Description
When the 1849 Wells Fargo Revolver was first produced, the idea of a small concealed handgun usually meant a single-shot, muzzle-loading derringer type pistol. The 1849 Well Fargo Revolver's ability to fire five consecutive shots without reloading represented a massive leap forward in firearms technology, and paved the way for modern day concealed carry. The Wells Fargo financial institution allegedly purchased these revolvers for security which is where they got the name, although there is no evidence to support this claim. Nevertheless, the name stuck and soon the 1849 Wells Fargo and similar pocket revolvers saw widespread usage across North America. These pistols were a huge success on the civilian market, and even Civil War Officers found them appealing and a small personal defense weapon.
Uberti's 1849 Wells Fargo Revolver is an authentic reproduction of the original down to the last detail including a metal bead front sight, a case-hardened frame, brass trigger guard and engraved cylinder.
