The barrel walls are considerably thicker when compared to the standards 500 shotgun models and the trigger guard and safety are now made from metal instead of polymer. Select models of the 590A1 feature ghost ring sights, multi-position sights, wood furniture, and even bayonet lugs. Additionally, the 590A1 features a clean-out magazine tube for easy cleaning and maintenance. Like the other shotguns in the 500 family, the 590A1 Mil-Spec comes standard with a set of dual extractors, twin action bars, and an anti-jam elevator.
