To address this issue, Hornady created the Heat-Shield, a polymer tip insert that doesn't melt or deform mid-flight for outstanding long range accuracy and match-winning performance. Like all of Hornady's premium ammunition, the ELD Match Cartridges are built with extremely tight tolerances and strict quality control. Powder is matched carefully to each specific load for optimal pressure, velocity and consistent accuracy, and cases are carefully selected based on strict criteria: wall thickness uniformity, internal capacity, case weight and consistent wall concentricity.
