Danner's Alsea Boots are named after Alsea Oregon, a territory that's home to a wide variety of terrain, from mountains and valleys to rivers and coastlines, and the Alsea boots are designed to stand up to all of it. The Alsea boots are built around Danner's 851 foot model. This makes them fit true to size with athletic and supportive qualities, provides abundant toe space, and locks the heel in place. For maximum durability, the upper portions of the Alsea boots are constructed from a combination of premium full-grain leather and abrasion resistant nylon panels with a water repellant DWR coating. The Alsea also utilizes a removable OrthoLite Footbed which is composed of three layers of open-cell polyurethane. Each layer varies in density and an open-cell design helps dissipate excess heat and promotes air circulation. To ensure the greatest resistance to the elements, the Alsea boots are equipped with a GORE-TEX liner making them 100% waterproof, but allows moisture to escape. For when the temperatures drop, the Alsea is equipped with 1000G of PrimaLoft insulation. This insulation, combined with the GORE-TEX liner makes the Alsea boots perfect for use in the rain and snow. In addition, the Alsea boots feature Danner's exclusive Plyolite midsole and Alsea outsole. The Plyolite midsole is lightweight and offers excellent comfort and shock absorption, and the Alsea outsole delivers superior traction in uneven terrain.
