B&T sets a new standard for personal defense weapons with the BWC-9. Similar to the Magpul FMG-9, the BWC-9 can be folded into a compact rectangular shape, and swiftly deployed into a small carbine. Even though the BWC-9 represents a major advancement in firearms technology, the BWC-9 itself is not considered firearm. Instead, the BWC-9 is a frame or chassis that uses the fire control unit of a Sig Sauer P320 handgun (compatible with both carry and full sized units). Once the P320 Fire Control Unit is installed, the BWC-9 will be classified as a short barreled rifle and the proper Form 1 paperwork is required for ownership.

The BWC-9 unfolds in one swift movement after gently pressing back on the charging handle. Due to the geometry of the P320 Fire Control Unit, the BWC-9's magazine will extend halfway out of the magazine-well while in the folded position, and will need to be fully inserted before the weapon is ready to fire. To fold the BWC-9, remove the magazine halfway, unlock and fold the magazine and grip into the forward position, then lift the "°Cheek piece" and the entire weapon will fold into itself. While in the folded position, the BWC-9 is remarkably compact, resembling a small briefcase or laptop case. The BWC-9 features a fixed carry handle for easy transportation, and also serves as a convenient way to hold the BWC-9 during the folding/unfolding process. In addition, the BWC-9 includes an Aimpoint ACRO P-2 Micro Red Dot Sight °C an advanced optic that utilizes a fully-enclosed design to prevent debris from entering the optical channel/electronic components, hardened front and rear glass lenses to better protect the internals, and is rated to withstand heavy recoil.
