Mossberg's 940 Pro Sporting is a fast shooting shotgun designed for breaking clays. Like the other shotguns in the 940 family, the 940 Pro Sporting is outfitted with a durable gas system that features a corrosion resistant nickel boron coating on all of the internal parts and a cleaner running gas vent that allows the 940 Pro Sporting to run reliably for up to 1500 rounds between cleanings. The durable gas system is topped off with a competition level loading port, elevator, and follower.

The 940 Pro Sporting's stock is available in either an attractive laminated walnut or a durable black synthetic option. Both options feature an adjustable drop and length of pull, and the receiver is drilled and tapped for optics.
