Mossberg's series of 500 Combo Shotguns are two shotguns in the same package. These versatile shotguns ship with two interchangeable barrels and are available in two main configurations: Field/Deer and Field/Security. The Field/Deer models ship with a standard smoothbore barrel as well as a rifled barrel for slugs (select models also include a low-power scope). The Field/Security features a 28" smoothbore barrel for breaking clays and bird hunting as well as an 18.5" smoothbore barrel for home defense/tactical applications (select models also include a detachable pistol grip). Like the other shotguns in the 500 family, the 500 Combo Shotguns come standard with a set of dual extractors, twin action bars, and an anti-jam elevator. Cycling the action is remarkably short, allowing shooters to send quick follow up shots or engage multiple targets. Additionally, the 500 Combo Shotguns are available in either 20 or 12 Gauge as well as with either wood or synthetic stocks.
